Chocobos, large birds that have been around for almost a millennia, they have been tamed and raised by Chocobo Ranchers for generations to help people travel faster and cross numerous terrains that they normally wouldn’t be able to traverse as easily. Some have them as mere vehicles, others as pets, some as faithful companions with their own names, a few even as combatants, everyone seems to treat their Chocbos differently, such as the Chocobo Knights, whose every member owns a Chocobo and use them to help and protect people.
Chocobos come in a large assortment of breeds, each easily distinguished by their colors, though the shades and hues of each color varies from one Chocobo to another:
Yellow: The most common and easily obtained type of Chocobo, they are quite fast, but unable to fly, cross water, or carry a passenger over any terrain that isn’t flat. Cost: 40 AP.[/b]
Blue: A decently common kind of Chocobo, they are a little slower than Yellow, but unlike them, the Blue Chocobo can walk on shallow water and make crossing rivers much easier. Cost: 50 AP.[/b]
Brown: Another common breed of Chocobo, slower than Yellow, these can cross mountainous terrain without losing their footing. Cost: 50 AP.
Green: The last common kind, they are also slower than Yellow, but can climb trees and glide a short distance, making travel, especially through forests, quite easy. Cost: 60 AP.
Red: A rare breed of Chocobo, it is much faster than the Yellow and can climb mountains, though it cannot walk over water or fly, and is extremely volatile and prone to attacking new owners and strangers. However, upon earning the Chocobo’s trust, it is a great ally in battle and can cast Fira on an enemy to aid its partner. Cost: 100 AP + 50 AP for Fira. [Cooldown: 2 Posts]
Black: Another rare kind, the Black is faster than the Yellow and can fly naturally, able to easily soar wherever its owner needs to go, though it cannot fly high enough to bypass mountains and thus must climb. Cost: 100 AP.
White: A very rare type, the White Chocobo is roughly the same speed as Yellow, but can fly high enough to cross mountains and long enough to make it to areas not too far away from land. Protective of their owners, they can cast Cura on them to help in battle. Cost: 150 AP + 50 AP for Cura. [Cooldown: 2 Posts]
Gold: The ultimate Chocobo, the Gold is easily the rarest of its species, and by far the fastest, it can also fly great distances without rest and cross oceans, as well as other deep waters, without problem. Once they have fallen in love with their owner, they gladly lend help in battle by summoning the mighty Choco Meteor! Cost: 200 AP + 75 AP for Choco Meteor. [Cooldown: 4 Posts]
Speed Comparison:
Gold > Red > Black > White/Yellow > Blue/Green/Brown
Choco Armor: Armor that one can put on their Chocobo to help protect them from monsters and other attackers, the armor can be blessed with magical effects to make it better, though at a higher price, and the effects can be stacked to make them more potent. Cost: Normal: 30 AP, Protect-Blessed: 50 AP, Shell-Blessed: 50 AP, Reflect-Blessed: 70 AP.
Selling Chocobos and Choco Armor: If one should choose to sell their Chocobos and/or its Armor for whatever reason, perhaps upgrading to a better breed or merely not wanting it anymore, they can be sold for Half of their original price.
