The Calm Lands were such a vast and peaceful place.
Full of so many mysteries, and so many sights to see. Lasarna still believed she had not seen everything Spira had to offer. She had found many hidden areas, explored many abandoned caves, and had faced death more times than she was comfortable to admit. Always wanting to see more, and always continuing her wanderer ways. Well, for the night, the young woman was staying in one place. Well, it depended on how one viewed staying in one place. Was she at the moment? No, not in the slightest. Even her method of travel was a bit different from most people. Lasarna did not ride upon a Chocobo, or even a machina of some sort. She rode upon a wolf as wild and free as any animal, and with only the night sky and her companion for her company.
Brown eyes glittered as brightly as any star, and she felt the wind racing through her hair. An elation rose through her very being, never tiring of riding upon Fell. Her slender fingers were tangled within the soft fur of his back, and she could feel his muscles quivering beneath her hands. Lasarna leaned forward slightly, almost wishing she could race as fast as a star, just like Fell. The dark furred wolf was obviously enjoying himself, hardly feeling Lasarna's weight as they raced through the night. The ledge of the Calm Lands was approaching, as that had been her destination all along~! To see the vast land of Spira beneath her, and see the beautiful night sky above her. Laughing out loud, Fell began to slow his maddening run. The wolf slowed to a walk, his chest rising and falling with fatigue. Turning back his eerie blue eyes to his owner, Lasarna promptly swung herself from the large wolf's back.
"I think this is a good place to rest for the night, ne, Fell~?" she asked brightly. Fell merely growled his assent, and without thought, he suddenly laid himself upon the ground, stretching out like a giant cat. Giggling to herself, Lasarna knelt down beside the wolf, and she stretched out upon the ground, laying her head against his warm flank. Fell growled lowly, but in reassurance, having lost all his animosity toward the young woman since they had met. Nearly five years ago, and yet seemed like nothing more than a dream ago. Feeling Fell's warm body beneath her own, she sighed contently, feeling his life and vigor beneath her head. Brown eyes flickered to the sky above her, and Lasarna smiled without thought.

The night was dark and high up in the midnight sky, the wind was much chiller then down on the plains of the Calm Lands. The sky was almost perfectly clear, the odd tiny cloud covering up small clusters of stars as the night breeze sent them on their way. Yet there was something else. A strange object was flying through the sky coming from Mount Gagazet heading towards Bevelle. The night sky combined with the objects dark clothing almost made him invisible against the sheet of darkness that spread across the entire stretch of sky, from one horizon over to the other. There was another clue to reveal this things presence, and that was the sound of a large wing-like appendage flapping against the pull of gravity and continued to allow the being to travel through the sky. However as the flapping grew louder, indicating that whatever this thing was, was coming closer, two faint glowing turquoise eyes could be seen glaring ahead towards the silhouette of Bevelle out in the distance.
Something caught it's eye down below and the flying creature's head snapping down towards the Calm Lands before, before twisting it's entire figure into a quick sweeping drop. Wrapping it's wing around itself, the creature plummeted down to the ground, whirling around before impact and coming to a halt, hovering a couple of feet above the grassy floor before as it kicked up a small cloud of dust from each wave it's huge wing. What was odd, was that this wasn't a fiend or a creature but instead a human being. The male glared as he flapped his wing one last time before landing gently upon his feet, his brightly glowing eyes staring ahead of him at the sight of what seemed to be a woman and a wolf laying together upon the grass a little ways up the hill. They seemed like travelers... well, the female did anyway. The wolf was most likely a pet or companion. Even so, to the winged figure, they came from Bevelle and anyone who comes and goes from there must be dealt with.
With the wind blowing a more comfortable, warm breeze down here then up in the sky, the leather clad figure flicked his fringe away from his eyes with a swift shake of his head, before placing one of his gloved handed upon the handle of his Souba that laid dormant in it's scabbard. His wing, and strangely, only one wing, was large and black now curled behind his back out of the way. Little to the woman's knowledge, the Remnant of Sin, Kadaj the Assassin was able to use some of his more ferocious attacks with his wing present. And judging from his narrowed eyes, tightened brow and stiff jaw, the prospect of him attacking looked highly likely. The Remnant stepped forwards and pointed his free arm over towards the woman and her pet, glaring down the length of his arm as if it were the sights upon a gun. "You!!" His harsh yet cat-like voice purred from his throat in a vengeful and somewhat twisted manner. "Which pathetic Faction are you under?!" He demanded, his grip upon his Souba tightening as the urge to draw and attack grew ever stronger.

Lasarna tensed the moment she felt Fell do so.
The wolf immediately began to growl, his fur standing on end, and he suddenly leaped to his feet. Lasarna sat up, brown eyes immediately scouting for any fiend or danger. Her heart quickened within her chest, and the young woman slowly rose to her feet. Glancing upward, she caught sight of what appeared to be a wing. Fell growled viciously, his blue eyes glowing eerily, and his muscle straining forward, ready to attack. Almost longing to do so, but he would do nothing without Lasarna's command. Already, instead of fear, she felt a large annoyance at this winged man that landed before her. Crossing her arms over her chest, the Recorder glared right back at the silver-haired man.
"I have a name, you know, and it definitely is not 'you!'" she exclaimed angrily. Was he about to attack her as well? What a jerk! Lasarna had never even met this man before, and yet he looked about ready to kill her where she stood. Fell was straining forward, but as he felt Lasarna's calming hand upon his head, he relaxed somewhat. Glancing to her companion, she smiled lightly, conveying that nothing would happen. At least, she certainly hoped so. What did her faction have to do with anything, though? The fights and differences between Yevon and Non Serviam were beyond her. Lasarna was merely a wanderer, enjoying all Spira had to offer.
"Hey, I'm not the one starting a fight here, and what faction I follow is none of your business!" Huffing just slightly, the young woman placed her hands upon her hips. Perhaps it would be best just to tell him, and then this man could go be psychotic to someone else. So much for enjoying her night. If her mouth did not get her killed, then she was sure her next answer might. Lasarna sighed after a moment, and she raised her hand, brushing a stray stand of hair behind her ear. "I don't follow either faction. I'm a part of Virtue, or whatever they call themselves. I really don't care what either faction does. I travel, not get involved with things that don't concern me," she answered calmly. Shrugging idly, the girl sat herself upon the ground, and Fell laid back down beside her.
"Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to get back to star gazing~!" Without a further look to the annoying man, she leaned back against Fell, and turned her brown eyes back to the sky above her.

The leather covered hand loosened it's grip on the Souba's handle slightly, as he felt his arms relax and the muscles in his shoulders twitch before easing up a fraction. Though still keeping his hand against the handle of his blade and his glaring eyes locked into the woman before him, who had now lay back down and returned to staring up at the night sky, the Remnant of Sin narrowed his eyes at her words and continued to glare. His eyes looked her over quickly a couple of times. She didn't seem to have much battle experience unless she was an expert at masking it. Then again, that strange creature laying beside her looked a lot tougher so perhaps it was this beast that did all the hard work whenever a battle approached. Was life really all about fighting anyway? Well, with wild and dangerous fiends lurking in almost every part of Spira, knowing how to fight was somewhat important. On the other hand, there were plenty of ex-crusaders and ex-guardians lingering about to allow other people a different path of life.
"Hmph." A short stiffle of air left the silver-haired man's lips as his hand now moved away from his Souba fully and went down to his hip where it rested for the time being. The warm night breeze blew past and could be heard fighting it's way though the strands of grass covering the ground and through the feathers upon Kadaj's wing, with little effort. "Virtue huh? I suppose I can say the same. And a traveler? You don't look like one to me." The silver-haired man said, his voice still purring out of his throat but with less harshness to it now. His glowing eyes were still shining with a bright turquoise colour, easily seen in the darkness of night. They were still glaring though. The leather clothing covering his arms creaked lightly as he raised both hands and folded his arms across one another over his chest. "Looking at that beast, i'd figure you to be more of a Trainer." He continued, closing his eyes and waving his hand before him slightly as he spoke.
Kadaj watched her again, opening his eyes and staring at her and she gazed skywards. A second or two later and the Remnant stared up towards the heavens for a moment too, watching the stars and wondering where Sin could be now after his defeat. Shaking his head and running a hand through his shoulder length hair, Kadaj frowned and looked back at the woman laying alongside the wolf. Fiends were usually pretty common in this area including Marlboros and Chimeras. Nasty creatures and especially so for those not adept in fighting. Kadaj sighed as he heard a certain blond-haired thief's words echo through his mind and he frowned furiously to make them go away. Even so, after a couple more seconds staring at the woman, he spoke up. "I'd not sleep here if I were you, if that's your plan." He paused and turned slightly, his wing twitching as he stepped before flexing out fully and flapping, causing a chilly draft. The silver-haired man pointed off across the Calm Lands, towards the north-west. "There is a Travel Agency over that way. You'd be safe from the Marlboro's there."

Oh, now, he was done being hostile toward her?
A slight sigh escaped her lips, and Lasarna nearly rolled her eyes. As soon as she mentioned that she belonged to no faction, he seemed to calm down. What an odd man. This was why she preferred the company of her animal companions, Fell especially. The wolf in question was still regarding the silver-haired man with a ferocity that would make any lesser man run. Fell was her best friend, her companion, and the only one who had been with her since her journey began. The only one that stayed with her completely. Larka she left with her parents back in Luca, and Michiyo came and went as she pleased. None of her companions were really all that tame, but the bond they shared was stronger than that of pet and owner.
Without thought, Lasarna curled up more closely to Fell. The wolf growled lowly, relaxing his body, and he curled around his mistress protectively, eerie blue eyes flickering to the man in warning. How nice it would be just to sleep out here, under the blanket of stars. What she had been doing for the past few days, and she had to miss the luxuries of just sleeping in a warm bed, and a hot shower to clean the scent of journeying from her body. Nearly forgetting the man was still there, the young woman glanced up toward him. Why was he still here? He had the information he wanted from her. "Appearances can always be deceiving. I know nearly every nook and cranny of Spira, after five years of traveling."
Fell growled lowly, understanding this man's words just fine, and not quite appreciating being called a beast. Lasarna hushed Fell, and she regarded the stranger with a slight smile. "I am, but that hardly means I cannot be a traveler either. I do both quite fine, actually." All of her companions were well trained, and had useful abilities of their own. Fell pressed his muzzle against her arm, and she looked to the wolf for a moment. The silver-haired man's words rang through her mind. The Travel Agency? Lasarna new there was one nearby, but perhaps it would be wise to take heed of his words. Sitting up, she stretched her arms out above her head.
"That may be a good idea, hmm, Fell~?" Slowly standing to her feet, she glanced to the wolf. Fell merely stood, blue eyes flashing in agreement. The large wolf was easily as tall as her waist, and that was merely on all four legs. His formed molded and honed from years within the wild wilderness of Spira. Without thought, Lasarna pulled herself to sit comfortably atop the wolf. Slender fingers curling into his silken fur, she glanced back to the silver-haired once more. "Thank you, though you should may want to work on your people skills a little more," she replied with a slight laugh. Without thought, Fell suddenly began racing through the plains, and Lasarna held onto the racing wolf with ease. Everything was so familiar and usual. As easy as breathing.
