Personality
A Paladin both in name and in spirit, Azure will not stop in her crusade for justice. She fights for all that is good and will strike down any evil that gets in her way. In this crusade, she goes so far as to not even raise her lance to those she knows to be good and those of evil will not even get a chance to speak before she strikes. She believes the words of evil do not need to be heard, as they will simply use them to distract her from her goal and deceive her. Those who do not follow the laws and simply act as they wish, she considers her enemies, as those types do not care for others.
Her behavior can rather easily be summed up by the code of conduct she follows:
- Never willingly commit an evil act
- Respect legitimate authority
- Act with honor (don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t use poisons, etc.)
- Help those who need help (provided they do not use the help for evil or chaotic ends)
- Punish those who threaten or harm innocents
- Courage and enterprise in obedience to Yevon
- Defense of any mission unto death
- Death before dishonor
Should she ever break this code, regardless of the reason, she has vowed to end her own life. She believes that once one has fallen from the path of justice, redemption is impossible as one is already infected with the temptation of evil.
Appearance
Height: 5’ 10”
Weight: 140 Ib.
Build: Athletic and “Busty”
Skin Colour: Pale
Hair Style: Keeps it long so it reaches about her waist and trims it so there isn’t much chance of it getting in her face
Hair Colour: Silver
Eye Colour: Red
Clothing: She wears a black uniform remnant of her days as a guardian, woven from Kevlar to protect her from bullets and other projectiles, with a thin metal plate in the torso to protect her vital organs from melee weapons. It’s rather simple in shape and doesn’t have excess material, making it more combat efficient since there’s no chance of cloth getting in the way. Since it was custom-tailored, its pretty much form-fitting as far as she is concerned. The upper half lacks material on the shoulders, to prevent it from inhibiting arm movement, though there is a small bit underneath the armpit to connect the sleeves to the shirt. She has a gold belt and black pants, with a pair of black boots to go with it. The boots also have armor covering the knees.
Weapons
- Enuma Elish, The Burning Lance That Split Apart Good and Evil: A powerful lance formed from mithril, it is Azure's primary weapon of choice and the one with which she is the most skilled. It is a pure silver color, the actual lance without the hilt reaching only a couple feet long and about a foot diameter and a rounded off tip. When used in combat, the lance spins and extends outward, reaching six feet in length. The lance itself is durable, but heavy when in combat form, making it extremely difficult to wield without proper strength, though its compact form isn't nearly as heavy.
While it does nothing truly special in its compact form, aside from being able to extend, in combat form it has a special gift. It grants the wielder the power of holy fire manipulation. The flames take on a light blue tint and, depending on the alignment of the one it hits, varies in the damage it does. Should the flames make contact with a being of good, the fire does nothing and simply looks pretty. If the flames hit a being of neutral alignment, they would simply do normal fire element damage, except for being blue. However, if they hit a being of evil, the flames deal both holy and fire damage. The exact quantity of the damage dealt to an enemy is dependant on how much holy fire they got hit with in the first place. The larger the amount, the heavier the damage. These flames do not burn flammable objects like normal fire, but instead will only catch fire on something of an evil alignment, causing the flames to linger and steadily deal damage.
The Holy Fire of Enuma Elish can be utilized in another way though. A powerful attack that truly brings down those of evil, the concentration of raw power and holy flame mixed together is so great that even those of good alignment take damage, and objects that get in the way of the attack will not be spared. Focusing power into the lance, it will begin spinning much like it were extending. However, it'd simply continue to spin to make it more akin to a drill at this point. As it spins, holy flame and raw energy would emerge from the lance and blend together, following the path of the spinning and forming a torrent around the lance. Once it is ready, by pointing and thrusting the lance at the target, the torrent will be unleased. Because the lance will continue spinning, the torrent will continue to grow as the front flies further, making it into a mix of a tunnel and a vicious tornado flying forwards. Even the very ground will be torn asunder by this attack that moves with the force and velocity of a speeding train. Only something with a force equal to that, or the most powerful of barriers can stop it, and even then it would be severely weakened. This attack cannot be used frequently, however, as it tires her out with repeated use, and between uses the lance needs to cool down for four rounds.
Aside from the holy fire, the lance is enchanted so that its combat mode can only be released by Azure's hand. In addition, it acts as a sort of ‘alignment detector’, gaining its holy-fire aura if in the presence of somebody who would be considered an enemy by the standards of the wielder. - Gae Dearg, The Crimson Rose of Exorcism: A blood red spear left in her possession as an inheritence, it is the less commonly used of her two weapons. She feels much more comfortable with a lance than a spear, though because of its ability, she has held onto the spear as a just in case measure. It is an anti-magic spear, capable of bypassing all conjured armors, or armors requiring magic energy (including passive abilities that act as armor), and when it strikes an enchanted weapon, armor, or item, the magic effects are all rendered ineffective for three rounds. However, each time the spear makes contact with the same weapon/armor/item, the three round count resets. Between each defense that is disabled, there is a two round cooldown. It is also capable of being summoned or dismissed at will.

- Avalon, The Everclosing Sanctuary: A circular, mithril shield made to be wielded with Enuma Elish. It is built the same way as the lance, in that it has a compact and a combat form, the latter which can only be released by Azure. When compact, the shield is nothing more than a circular metal disk with a diameter of a foot and a half and a handle on one side of it. With the combat form, though, it effectively triples its diameter and extends outward, three fins forming as the shield gets larger.
The shield's own enchantment is obviously one of defense. When in combat mode, a sort of invisible, incorporeal film covers Azure. This film provides reduction of all physical damage that hits her by about the same amount as Protect, but if she chooses, she can consciously activate a second ability of the shield. When activated, the shield becomes a magic reflector, launching all spells that hit it back at the user for three rounds, with a cooldown of four rounds. - Her Kevlar-woven uniform & metal plate
Items
- Bellerophon, The Mount of Chivalry: A Pegasus found and rescued by Azure during her travels as a Guardian, it was heavily injured due to horrible owners, whome she properly...disposed of, and had the creature transported back to the temple for medical care and rehabilitation. It was violent at first, and it took quite a bit of training in order to make it friendly again.
Now, after much training, the Pegasus is tame and currently serves as her mount for travelling around Spira. Despite being peaceful in nature, it is also very protective of its owner, and if it is not specifically ordered by her to not get involved, it will attack those who threaten her. It's also rather picky about who rides it, since history taught it that not all people can be trusted, only permitting Azure and those allowed by her to ride to actually get on.
As far as its own powers go, Pegasus is powerful both offensively and defensively. For offensive purposes, it can flap its wings and release powerful buffets of wind that act as shockwaves, strong enough to even break the ground and tear through those who walk around without armor. Defensively, its body is as durable as Orichalchum, if not stronger, giving it great defense against both physical attacks and magical attacks. Its speed is not to be underestimated. As a steed of a magical nature, its running ability lets it move as fast as any modern car machina, and in some cases faster. For its flight, it can surpass its ground speed thanks to the lack of friction of the ground.
It also has a special attack it can use in flight. By putting energy throughout its body, it can create a forcefield of light around itself, which also amplifies its speed. It can then perform a powerful ramming attack, the attack growing stronger with the more distance that it flies. This attack can only be used in a dive-bomb like manner, making it useless against targets higher in the sky. When the attack hits, the shield shatters but all of the energy hits the point of impact, making it strong both physically and magically, but after use Pegasus has to wait three rounds before it can use it again.

Custom Abilities
- Blessings of the Valkyries: When both Enuma Elish and Avalon are wielded together in combat mode, this power activates. Its effects become passive benefits until she is disarmed or she puts them in compact mode. When active, a blue-ish aura, very akin to the holy flames of Enuma Elish, surrounds her body. This aura provides a sort of 'evil repellant', preventing evil aligned people from making contact with her. However, it only works within immediate vicinity of her body, so weapons can still hit. While active, her strength is also multiplied three fold, allowing her to wield the lance with ease. The aura also reduces the strength of enemy magic that hits her by half and protects her from status ailements.
- Yevon’s Iron Grip: A useful little technique that Azure has developed for those more elusive or more irritating enemies. Using some of her energy, she can form energy restraints on an enemy in order to prevent them from moving. Those who are good are unaffected by this power, while those who are neutral will see the restraints for what they are and simply be slowed down by half. Those who are evil, though, will be completely incapable of movement and they will not sense the actual energy restraints. To them, it will seem as though chains appeared from mid-air and bound their bodies, and unless they can somehow break the true restraints, that is how they will believe they are bound through all five senses. In order to use this, she needs an open hand, as a component for forming the restraints is for her to focus on the target and clench her hand shut. She can keep the restraints in place for a maximum of three rounds, but if something forces her hand open, it will be broken early.
- Infinite Lance Creation: Because simply one lance would not be enough to fight some enemies, learned through personal experience, she developed a technique to produce more weapons. Solidifying, shaping, and compressing her energy, she can conjure holy-element lances to her aid. She can manipulate them with a pseudo-telekinetic effect, allowing her to use them even if her hands are full, though if she so chooses she can also wield them in her hands. They are as durable as mithral and deal holy damage to those they hit and normally, she is capable of producing up to fifteen of these lances at a time.
- White Magic: While she is primarily a fighter, the need for white magic has come up time and time again, so she took a little time out of her training to learn some practical white magics that she’d need. Of course, this was back when she served as a Guardian, but she’s still found uses for them to this day. Her spells consist of:
- Heal: A healing spell which can be used from a distance, it can heal the wounds of any she uses it on, or in the case of being used on undead, damage them. Using it for an instance, she can heal most wounds, though if she has the time to be able to focus on healing, she could even regenerate lost organs or body parts. Obviously the latter is much more taxing on her than the former.
- Shield: A spell that puts a barrier around the one it is cast on, it provides physical protection by reducing the damage of physical attacks by half. Lasts two rounds with a cool down of two. Can be stacked with Block.
- Block: A spell that puts a barrier around the one it is cast on, it provides magical protection by reducing the damage of magical attacks by half. Lasts two rounds with a cool down of two. Can be stacked with Shield.

History
Azure was born of two Crusaders within the Yevon military. As far as the masses were concerned, she was an accident, a result of a rather light-hearted night after a difficult mission. In truth, she was entirely intentional. Her parents didn’t want people to think they were going to go soft on the ‘accident’, so they began preparing her for the Yevon military at an extremely young age. They were already teaching her in the ways of Yevon when she was only a year old, trying to get everything into her head early so she could spend more time training later in life. By the age of five, she showed complete knowledge of the ways of Yevon, so at the age of six began her training for the militant life that awaited her.
It was difficult to get her going, since it became clear quickly that she was more brains than brawn (even though she was only six), so they had to get specially crafted training weapons for her. They got a few different kinds of weapons, mainly an axe, a sword, and a lance. They were three basic weapons that were vastly different in nature, so judging by which she used best, they could train her properly from then on. As it would turn out, she preferred the lance. Swords were too predictable and axes were too unwieldy. The lance could be used both on foot and mounted, and when used right, had more power in them than axes.
So, the next four years were spent practicing the art of wielding the lance. She showed promise during her training, some thinking she’d be able to make it to the Warrior Monks, but it was not so much her physical ability that made them believe that. She was only about average in pure physical ability, but she had determination. She didn’t let up in her pursuit of mastering the art of the lance, even though she was merely a child. She knew nothing but improving herself for the sake of Yevon. She had no childhood, so she did not know of the strange things like ‘fun’. If one were to ask her at this point what she considered fun, it would most likely be answered with training.
One thing seemed to stick out in her mind during her training though. While a lance was powerful, it was not as agile as a sword, and could not be very effectively used defensively mid-combat. So, to fix this, she took up a shield for defensive purposes. She began developing her own style of wielding the lance, as while it was designed for striking a single point, she often used it for sweeping attacks, using sheer force to take down targets. As she continued training this way, she was not considered a prodigy, but she would certainly make it places in the world.
When she was about sixteen, her first true task in service to Yevon was found. A summoner had taken a liking to her and thought her capable enough in order to be a Guardian. She was the only Guardian this Summoner took, since while many suggested he bring someone with more experience, he simply said that Azure would suffice. Not long after they left for the pilgrimage, he gave her proper weapons for their travels, since the things that the Church gave her would not last long. They were weapons crafted from a mix of his own abilities, and the skills of a blacksmith friend he had. Azure was the one who named these weapons, Gae Dearg and Enuma Elish. A shield was given to her as well, forged in the same manner as Enuma Elish, which was soon named Avalon. When she asked why he gave her all of these, he simply said that he was dragging her all across Spira because he chose her, so he had to do something in exchange.
During their travels, Azure began to learn magic from various temples along the way, as well as a bit from the summoner. Their travels took about two years including the stops and training they had along the way, but they had finally arrived at their destination, Zanarkand. Yunalesca deemed him worthy of the Final Aeon, but when Azure attempted to offer herself to become the Fayth for it, he refused. He had grown even more attached to her during their travels and, while not actually in love with her, he did not want to see all of her efforts put to waste through pointless sacrifice. Deciding not to let his travels be for naught, Yunalesca killed the summoner then and there, Azure simply watched the event take place. She couldn’t do anything about it. He was going against the way of Yevon and she was faithfully following his wishes. Yunalesca, knowing this, allowed Azure to go free, hoping that should she arrive again, she would be with a more willing summoner.
Upon her return, she was allowed to join the Crusaders to continue her training and to serve the people until a new Summoner would recruit her as a Guardian. Of course, only after a few years of serving as a Crusader did she get recruited into the Warrior Monks, roped in easily since it would be an even greater service to Yevon to protect the temples and Maesters. So she continued her training, and she later saw that joining the Warrior Monks was the best thing she could’ve done, since Operation Mi’ihen brought Crusaders and Al Bhed together against Sin. Working with the Al Bhed, in Azure’s eyes, was a stupid decision since they were heretics and she believed only summoners with the Final Aeon could defeat Sin.
After the fall of Sin and Yevon, Azure still continued to serve Yevon. Many lost faith in Yevon, but hers stood strong. She believed that Yevon would rise again and show the people of Spira the error of their ways. She currently travels from temple to temple, serving Yevon and doing good deeds for the people, simply counting the minutes on the clock until Yevon’s true return.
Recently, the Maesters approached her, telling her that the rise of Yevon is slowly coming to completion, and for their rebirth, they needed a more...suitable leader for their Warrior Monks since the previous one was gone. Giving it no second thoughts, she accepted the position and so now serves directly under the Maesters as the Heiromonk of the Warrior Monks.
