The frozen lake was actually quite a peaceful place to be. Well at least to Fang. It was a place she could run away to and relax. It was some place she was able to forget about everything even though it was for a short period of time. So what if it was supposedly dangerous in the area? That just made it all the more fun. Monsters and the like galore! Beating them released the stress and tension that lingered in her shoulders and back. Oh how it bothered her when she found knots in her back and shoulders because of the stress. It was rather stupid really; to get stressed out to a point that one's own body starts trying to warn you. With a sigh she sat down on the frozen surface and putting her spear next to her but well in reaching distance in case a monster attacked. What a day.

With a sigh she listened carefully to the supposed silence that surrounded her. She hummed softly to herself as she moved to stand up and rest her spear on her shoulder. Oh ho~? Someone was here? She wasn't alone? Oh how interesting~! She smiled and chuckled to herself. Perhaps it was another monster or maybe it was a person. Could it be a person? If it was a person well that would definitely be interesting. She chuckled and put her free hand on her hip. "Alright, whoever, whatever you are~ come out, come out where ever you are~. I promise I won't bite unless you want me too." She chuckled and waited for whatever it was to reveal herself. Maybe she'd get a good fight out of it this time.

Macalania certainly was an interesting place, if nothing else, Rwaht thought. Still encased in ice even after the disappearance of the Macalania Fayth, it was one of Spira’s unique beauties, a land eternally frozen. Rwaht had his wings extended, curled at his back to generate enough warmth to keep the freezing environment from being uncomfortable. There were some practical benefits to possessing big honkin’ wings of fire, it seemed. Though he was still supposed to be patrolling Spira and investigating, sometimes it was nice to just appreciate Spira’s natural beauty. And seeing everything from up high was extremely nice, but at the same time, it was good to get up close every now and again. Suddenly, however, he heard a voice.

“Alright, whoever, whatever you are~ come out, come out where ever you are~. I promise I won't bite unless you want me to.” Grinning wryly, Rwaht used his Warp ability to appear directly before the woman in a gentle burst of wind, with a wry grin on his face. He was a little surprised to find that, well… she was rather attractive, which he was starting to detect was a running trend in Spira. She was certainly more… exotic looking than most women he’d met, however, and almost looked a little… rough, in the very-most interesting sense of the word.

“There will be no need for biting, I assure you,” Rwaht said with a wry grin, standing there with arms folded. He just seemed to keep on meeting interesting people, lately.

When the man in front of her through some sort of ability, Fang chuckled and let her posture relax. No threat really. If he was she could probably seduce her way out of a bad situation. Well, well~ wasn't he a sight for sore eyes~? She might not want to escape this man after all. It wasn't everyday that she ran into a handsome man without some sort of loophole attached. Knowing her luck, this man was already claimed. How discouraging. Well, not really. When she was a teenager she did have a habit of stealing the love interests of other girls. Oh well~!

She chuckled when he responded to her biting comment. "Well a little biting is never harmful ya know~ it can be quite fun." She smirked slightly and leaned against her spear. Definitely no threat really. "And you are~?" she inquired curiously. "Knowing your name would be easier then calling you, hey you or whatever." She had to admit; this was a good thing. Maybe she would find fun out of this man. Her boredom would temporarily cease to exist. If only for a moment at least.

Well, she seemed hard to take off guard, if nothing else.

“Well a little biting is never harmful ya know~ it can be quite fun,” she said with a smirk, leaning on her spear. He sized the weapon up, unable to shake the habit of being as prepared for battle as possible. One thing that he was grateful of was that he didn’t have to have his weapons on his person at all times: no one could know how he could fight until it was too late. Not that that would be a problem with this woman; or so he hoped, anyway. If nothing else, she was certainly interesting.

“Well,” Rwaht said coyly, “That depends almost entirely on the circumstances of the biting,” he finished, one eyebrow raised and a roguish grin on his features. If this woman wanted to be a tease, well, two could play that game. Then she asked for his name.

He figured, why not. Wasn’t much in a name, after all.

“My name is Rwaht. And who might you be?”

If Rwaht had known that Spira would be this interesting, he would’ve come over many years ago~

Fang chuckled quietly. She liked this man. He was a smartass~! She watched him carefully and noticed his gaze on her spear. Aww~. He was interested in her baby~. she chuckled again and let out a soft sigh. "No worries, no worries~. I don't wanna fight or nothin'. It's been too long of a day to fight much more right now. Gotta take a breather once in a while, ya know? And biting can be fun during certain times. If ya know what I mean~"

With a smile she leaned against her spear more. Fang was in a lazy mood to be completely honest. "Besides, right now? I'm way too damn lazy to start a fight." It was the truth to say the least.

When he told her his name she cocked an eyebrow at him. "Rwaht? That sure is an interesting name ya got there. Mine? I guess I can let you call me Fang." She nodded and lifted her spear up and rested it against her shoulder. Sooner or later she'd have to get going. Especially if this guy recognized her name and had a problem with her job; which was also entirely likely at this point. Yevon wasn't exactly popular to say the least.

“Well, you know. Interesting name for an interesting person. And you’ll let me call you Fang~?” Rwaht asked, raising an eyebrow with that same mischievous grin on his face. He took a second look at the woman, and then he was sure of what he had earlier suspected. “And I’m assuming that’s Oerba Yun Fang, leader of the Crusaders? It is an honour,” Rwaht said, giving a short little bow. He knew of the woman, enough to know that she was certainly no pushover. However, what he’d met of her so far seemed to indicate that she was a pleasant enough person in her own right. Even if her beliefs completely contrasted his own.

“And what is the Crusader Lieutenant doing, all the way out here?” Rwaht asked, folding his arms as he took a look about the lake. It really was beautiful. It felt like a nice moment of peace for a world that seemed like it was slowly drifting towards chaos and madness; and in that moment, he was at least seeing the best of Spira.

And if he and this woman wound up fighting on some other day, well, that had nothing to do with the moment at hand. For the time being, he could just enjoy the peace. And the company.

Tch. He knew who she was. She hadn't wanted her identity to be revealed so easily. It wasn't like she disliked her position, she just didn't like the disdain towards Yevon. It was just how she was raised after her parents died after all. There wasn't much she could do about that. She crossed her arms over her chest, trying to not let herself show that she was uncomfortable. But she was uncomfortable. Very. With that she shrugged. "That's me. And it is no honor really. It's a position for being the strongest. Someone has to lead after all. Whether they want to or not." With great power comes great responsibility after all and all that lovely jazz. With a sigh she uncrossed her arms and ran her fingers through her hair.

What was she doing all he way out here after all? "I'm getting away that's all. I got tired of being around the dust." She shrugged. "Sometimes you have to get away from the daily grind, the noise, the people and everything to truly be yourself. Just had to get away from the dust." She shrugged again. Lately there had been so much noise and crying among the people that she lead that she had to leave for a time. It had made her head ache and throb. "Sometimes you have to go where the wind takes ya." She sat down again and stretched. "Sit a bit. It's not like we're fighting or anything. There's peace in Spira for the moment. Enjoy it while you can."

Rwaht was a little surprised as the woman spoke. Not that he’d expected her to be unwise, or anything of the sort, merely that the sort of careful wisdom she was displaying, the sort of wise, intrinsic beliefs that she seemed to hold were set rather directly against how he might’ve expected her to act. To be honest, he never would’ve guessed that someone like her would support Yevon, and yet she did. A complicated woman, if nothing else.

Sometimes you had to go where the wind took you… not him, he thought. He’d spent his life grappling with his apportioned fate and fighting it to bitter tears. And yet had he ever once succeeded? Had he ever once really fought fate? He asked himself time and time again… that great tragedy of his past, his great, but irrevocably necessary sin… had it been his rebelling against fate? Or had he been guided by fate’s hand all along?

Not like they were fighting? No, but sometimes Rwaht wondered if he’d ever stopped fighting. There always seemed to be something that he needed to set himself against, even if it was only himself. There was peace in Spira, but in his own heart? Not by a long shot.

No need to tell her that, though, Rwaht thought wryly, making an attempt to steer his thoughts away from doom ‘n’ gloom. Taking up her offer, Rwaht sat down next to her and rested his elbows on his knees.

“Maybe I should try and enjoy myself for a change,” Rwaht admitted, managing to give a light little laugh as he said it.

[Oerba Yun Fang]

Fang was to be honest, completely and totally exhausted. She didn't show it and she ran her fingers through her hair with a quiet sigh. She leaned back and looked up at the forest canopy that loomed overhead. Some days she wished odd things like how Sin and Yevon didn't exist and how half of Spira's history hadn't happened. Oh well. If wishes were horses, poor men would ride after all. She pressed the heel of her hand to her eyes and sighed.

"I know, I know. Strange coming from Yevon huh?" she asked. She chuckled quietly to herself. "If you think about it really I didn't have a choice, being raised with it after all." Her shoulders rose and fell in a shrug as she leaned forward, crossing her arms over her chest. She looked over to Rwaht with a slight nod. "You seem to be the type who takes things too seriously. Loosen up. I'm not going to cause any trouble today. It'd be too troublesome to try to start a fight now when I'm tired."

She reaches over and patted Rwaht's back. "It's okay to have fun sometimes. Especially in times of peace because it never lasts for long..." she ended up trailing off in her own quiet musings.
