As Fayt continued down the road he looked around, he was supposed to meet someone from The Human Armies, but he had not found the crossroads yet. It was growing dark, and he was getting worried, he had found neither the person nor a place to rest his head down for the night. He guessed if he had to he would sleep on the side of the road, it would not be that bad, he had slept rougher, when he went on hunting trips with his father they had slept rough in the forests in Besaid. The only thing that concerned him was if he got caught unawares by thieves or worse fiends.
The sun had finally set and the moon was out, it was huge, but he was use to seeing large moons in Besaid, but he could not help but stop and gaze at the beauty of it. He started to hum a tune his father use to sing to him when he was a boy, his voice would not win any prizes, but it was not that bad either. He looked around some more; he had given up on finding the crossroads today, so he was looking for some semblance of shelter. He finally found a set of ruins, they had some of their roof on it, plus the ground was fairly even. He smiled and walked over to it.
He sat down underneath the ruined shelter, and then something happened, his stomach grumbled. He had not eaten much all day, just eating some of the vegetables his father gave him. He stood up, slightly bent over because of his height and once again looked around. He found what he was looking for. He walked over to a tree and broke off a number of branches, and then picked some of the dead ones on the floor. He then walked around and picked up a number of large stones. He then made his way back to the shelter and made up the sticks and stones into a pit. Once the fire was prepared his set it alight with some tools his father had given him.
Once the fire was ablaze he pulled off his backpack and pulled out a reasonably size piece of meat and then some cooking utensils. He then started to cook the meat, the smell wafting through the air, and it actually smelt quite good.
